India's relations with its neighbouring countries:-

India is located latitudinally in Northern hemisphere between 8°44' to 37°6 north latitude and longitudinally in Eastern hemisphere between 68°7' to 97°25' east longitude. India measures  3214 km from north to south and 2933 km from east to west. India has a land frontier of 15200 km and the total length of coastline of the mainland, Lakshadweep island's and Andaman and Nicobar islands is 7516.6 km.

India is bounded by the Indian Ocean- in particular by the Arabian Sea on the west, lakshadweep sea on the southwest, the Bay of Bengal on the east, and the Indian Ocean proper to the south.
India shares its border with pakistan and Afghanistan to the Northwest, myanmar and bangladesh to the east, china, bhutan and Nepal to the north, Sri Lanka and Maldives , from Southwest are two countries with water borders.

Neighbouring countries and their bordering states-

1. Pakistan - jammu and Kashmir, punjab, rajasthan and Gujarat.
2. Afghanistan - jammu and Kashmir( pakistan occupied kashmir)
3. China - jammu and Kashmir, himachal Pradesh, uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Arunachal Pradesh.
4. Nepal - bihar Uttarakhand,, uttar Pradesh, sikkim and West Bengal.
5. Bangladesh - west Bengal, mizoram, meghalaya tripura and Assam.
6. Bhutan - west Bengal, sikkim, arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
7. Myanmar - arunachal Pradesh, nagaland, manipur and Mizoram.

1. India has the third largest International border in the world and Russia.
2 india has the most sensitive border of the world that is varies from extreme climatic conditions to infiltration.
3. India is the second largest nation in terms of population and seventh largest in terms of area.
